Zou Shichang said, my country`s current integrated circuit IC technology is still 0.18 microns, 0.25 microns, while the international advanced technology has reached 32 nanometers (0.032 microns), the technology is mature. At present, 80% of my country's integrated circuits and IC chips rely on imports. In this regard, the consumption of foreign exchange exceeds that of oil, becoming the largest foreign exchange consumer. He said that if my country's information industry is developed in this way, "it will be restricted in all aspects, and some core technologies will be difficult to transfer from abroad. If you don't develop yourself, this core technology will still be in the hands of others."
Therefore, to improve the level of informatization in our country, it is necessary to improve core technical capabilities. Zou Shichang said that the integrated circuit is the heart and the software is the brain. Not only does the integrated circuit industry urgently need independent design and manufacturing, but software also needs to develop accordingly. The two must be "handed over." He believes that the biggest advantage of independent research and development is to keep the economic benefits in China. "The mobile phones and computers we use, many of the core things are in foreign countries. China is just assembling, and the value that can be generated by assembly is low in this industry chain. The value is very low. Once the core technology is in our own hands, the economic benefits will remain in China."
